BBQ Meat Sticks
Ingredients
- Red onion
- 500 gram mince
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs or 1 slice of bread to tear up
- 1 egg
- pepper
- salt
- Oil
On top of those ingredients you will need:
- Empty clean plastic bottle
- Can, about the diameter of your plastic bottle
- Soaked wooden skewers
- Mixing bowl
Instructions
Prepare the tools
- Cut the plastic bottle in half, cut the bottle about a third of the bottom.
- Make sure that your can fits tightly inside the bottle or you might need to find another can or bottle that fit together
Prepare the meat
- Cut half a red onion in small pieces
- Tear up the slice of bread in small pieces
- Mix the onion, egg and breadcrumbs with the mince
- Add a pinch of salt and pepper
Make the sticks
- Put the mince mix in the top part of the cut open bottle
- Place the can underneath so you can use it to push the mince up
- Place a soaked wooden skewer in the top of the bottle and press the bottle down guiding the skewer out with the mince mix.
- Continue this process until all the mince has been used up
Cook the Meat Sticks
- Pre heat the BBQ and oil the hotplate
- Cook the Meat Sticks for about 10 minutes or until cooked through
